I recently just moved from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania. This was a complete downsize for me and my family. This is the move that people do later in life but we did it much younger. Everything came under scrutiny. Does it stay or does it go?
Over the course of last year my wife and I went through every room and got rid (donated, sold, recycled as best as possible) everything we could. We lived in the house for 17 years, raised 2 kids, and had A LOT OF STUFF. We moved into a tiny townhouse.
Okay, this included so much tea! I wouldn’t say I collect tea but I had some many random boxes, pouches, samples, almost-done but not-quite-done containers. You have these too? They’re trophies, special, right?
I was supposed to decide the keepers but I pretty much kept it all! (Side note, the only tea I don’t care for is earl grey and that went. They were samples and I knew I’d never drink them. Sorry, EG lovers!)
But now I have a huge bin in the basement of our new townhouse filled with tea. It’s a good thing, right? Or is this where you really decide what stays and what goes?
I am about to make the trip downstairs to see what I forgot about. I’ll just be shuffling that tea from the storage bin to the kitchen cupboard. Sigh…I can’t part with this stuff and I have a new batching coming in today or tomorrow.
I’ve never shared publicly a tea haul which I’m going to do with this incoming batch. That’s for my next post!
Happy tea drinking! If it’s fall for you, enjoy the cooler tea sipping weather. I know I do!
